It is called “Dirty Cow”
This bug in the Linux kernel, persists since 2009, so most Android devices are affected by this security hole in the system.
But, what is this dangerous bug?
If a hacker exploits it (using infected apk), he can gain root access on your device. What does this mean? It has the control over your data.
At the moment, Google has shared the patch to fix it, but only some OEMs have applied this patch into their kernels.
What can you do to stay safe? Install app only from PlayStore and think twice before downloading something from the web.
